Trauma Informed Clinical Supervision.
Receiving clinical supervision is a vital element of professional and ethical therapeutic practice, for anyone in the helping profession. Great supervision can support and guide therapists to ensure they remain actively engaged, inspired & are providing effective & safe therapy with their clients.
Clinical Supervision is safe, judgement free space where the therapist and supervisor collaborate together to support therapist learning, find new perspectives and develop insight to inform the direction of the therapeutic work.
Therapists can feel safe to talk about their own inner experience, their felt sense of the client and any concerns or barriers, without fear of judgement or blame.
Supervision can help therapists reflect on the many aspects and relational dynamics of providing therapy, build skills and knowledge and help get great outcomes!
Supervision can significantly change the way a therapist can see and relate with their client, shift relational patterns that may be playing out within their therapeutic relationship, open new directions, and move through feeling stuck, overwhelmed or lost in the work.
I provide supervision for clinicians from all backgrounds, who work with a wide variety of clients, with complex presentations.
I specialise in providing safe, embodied and attuned Clinical Supervision for therapists who work with children and young people who have experienced early childhood trauma, neglect or abuse, have been exposed to family violence, sexual abuse, assault or experienced cumulative harm.
This includes clients who present with symptoms of Complex Trauma and PTSD, dissociation & attachment wounding, and how this may affect relationships with significant others, in their life.
I am available online, for individual & group supervision.

Child & Adolescent Trauma Therapy.
I have extensive experience working with Children & young people and have supported those who have been homeless, in out of home care, using substances, experiencing mental health difficulties or who may be contemplating suicide or use self harm to cope.
I have supported young people coming to terms with their sexuality or have been sexually assaulted or abused, experienced relational violence or have been groomed, bullied or assaulted, online.
I have also successfully worked with children and young people who have engaged in problematic or harmful sexual behaviours, and their caregivers.
I value being a deeply warm, engaging, accepting and real person a young person can relate with and feel safe to be themselves. My young people do not have to tell me what they have experienced for us to be able to work on reducing the distress and impact on their life and how they feel about themselves. Their therapy is at their pace and in a way that works for them - they have control.
I use creative therapies such as art and play, Sandtray, Narrative Therapy and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy as well as EMDR to work with traumatic experiences.
I encourage the inclusion of my clients family, caregivers and significant others in their therapy (if they and their young people are up for it!) and can support parenting and shift family dynamics.
Please give me a call or use the contact form to discuss what may be happening for your young person and your family.

What is Trauma?
Trauma is our natural response to deeply distressing or disturbing events, that overwhelm our ability to cope. Traumatic experiences can occur from a single event such as a car accident or house fire, or can occur as multiple incidents over a length of time, often within relationships and can involve interpersonal threat, violence, and violation. The event/s need not rise to the level of war or natural disaster to affect us profoundly. Sometimes these life-challenging events can leave psychological and physiological survival patterns, due to the heightened stress that accompanies these experiences, creating a trauma response.
What is Trauma Therapy?
Trauma Therapy is a specific approach that supports understanding of how the traumatic experience has impacted you, aims to reduce the distress and aid recovery. The purpose of trauma-focused therapy is to offer skills and strategies to assist you in better coping with and processing emotions and memories tied to traumatic experiences, with the end goal of enabling you to create a healthier and more adaptive meaning of the experience that took place.
Based on neurobiology and evidence based methodologies, trauma therapy uses three phases to ensure you have the resources, stability and safety throughout the therapeutic journey. We collaborate together within the safety of our therapeutic relationship to ensure you feel supported, and the treatment is tailored to your unique needs. This may include a range of modalities (found on the ‘how i work’ page on this website) and trauma specific treatment such as EMDR.
